Installation Instructions

2.1 Installation Instructions
For the installer’s safety and to ensure optimal sensor operation, follow these steps in order:

1) Securely mount the meter box and sensor bracket.
2) Insert the meter head into the case, ensuring it’s firmly secured.
3) Install the sensor meticulously.
4) Proceed with the electrical connection carefully.

2.2 Mainframe Installation
Choose between embedded and wall-mounted installation for the mainframe.
1) External dimensions: 176 x 150 x 86mm.

Wall mounting dimensions: 167 x 105mm.
Designed with four quick wall mounting holes. Fix the screws according to the wall mounting points, then hang the product securely.
Note: During probe installation, ensure British line commissioning products are fixed. Protect the instrument from sun and water to extend its service life.

2.3 Sensor Installation
Precautions:
1) Avoid shocking the sensor!
2) Do not loosen the locking wire connector on the sensor during installation to prevent damage.
3) Ensure water does not freeze around the sensor to avoid damage.

1) Follow these guidelines when selecting a sensor mounting location:
2) Position the sensor where it will provide representative measurement results.
3) Install the sensor in an easily accessible spot for convenient regular cleaning.
4) Place the sensor in a well-mixed part of the process with no downtime, typically near the sampling point.
5) Install the sensor near a representative process sampling point, within 1.5m (5 feet) for optimal calibration and use. This facilitates accurate comparison of instrument readings with laboratory analysis results. Incorrect sampling is a common source of erroneous readings.

2.4 Sensor Installation Method
The installation of the Doppler Sensor via a mounting bracket, ensuring its immersion within the channel or pipe, is ideal for general open channels, pipelines, and similar scenarios. This method guarantees optimal performance and accuracy in various environments.
For optimal performance, the sensor must be securely installed on the mounting bracket. Under no circumstances should the sensor be suspended in water by the sensor cable alone. Ensure the sensor is submerged to a minimum depth of 30cm below the water surface, or to the typical sampling depth, while avoiding direct exposure to intense light.
1) Selection of Installation Site
Select a location with smooth and steady water flow to achieve precise measurements.
In areas where water flow is irregular or turbulent, the measured flow velocity tends to be erratic and unstable, leading to significant measurement errors.
2) Upstream and Downstream Channel Requirements
Under ideal conditions, select an installation site with an upstream straight channel length of 10 times the channel width, and a downstream straight channel length of 3 times the channel width to ensure accurate measurements.

The longer the straight upstream channel, the better the results. Smooth water flow ensures that the velocity measurements are more accurate to the actual flow. This section should remain free from obstructions such as gates or weirs, ensuring a smooth flow pattern ahead of the sensor and minimizing turbulence.
