Utilizing the Doppler effect, this sensor establishes a correlation between the frequency difference of transmission and reception with flow velocity. It also determines liquid levels through the time difference between ultrasonic transmission and reception, and accounts for static pressure levels under specific conditions. Additionally, ambient temperature measurements are used to correct the actual speed of ultrasonic propagation.
1.1.2 CCharacteristics
Crafted from industrial-grade stainless steel and plastic, this sensor is waterproof, anti-corrosive, robust, and long-lasting.
Featuring no wearing parts, the sensor ensures minimal maintenance and low operational costs.
Boasting high resolution and exceptional measurement accuracy.
The sensor is designed for a service life exceeding 5 years.
Unaffected by chemical reagents, liquid viscosity, and other interfering factors.
Operates via an 18-key keypad with both Chinese and English menu options.
Provides an isolated current output range of 4~20mA.
Equipped with an isolated RS485 (Modbus RTU) communication interface.
Includes an upper and lower limit alarm function with relay output.
2.1 Installation instructions
For the safety of the installer and optimal sensor performance, follow these installation steps:
:
1) Mount the meter box and sensor bracket securely.
2) Place the meter head into the meter case and secure it firmly.
3) Install the sensor in its designated position.
4) Complete the electrical connections as specified.
2.2 Mainframe installation
The mainframe supports two installation types: embedded and wall-mounted.
1) External dimensions: 176 x 150 x 86mm.
Wall mounting dimensions: 167 x 105mm.
Designed with four quick wall mounting holes, simply align and secure the screws according to the wall mounting points, then hang the product.
Note: Ensure the probe is securely fixed during installation. Protect the instrument from sun and water to extend its service life.
2.3 Sensor installation
Precautions:
1) Do not subject the sensor to shock!
2) Do not unscrew the locking wire connector during installation to avoid sensor damage!
3) Ensure the water surrounding the sensor remains unfrozen to prevent damage.
Sensor dimensions are illustrated as follows:
1) Follow these criteria for selecting a sensor mounting location:
2) Mount the sensor at an optimal location in the process to ensure accurate measurements.
3) Install the sensor in an accessible location for regular cleaning.
4) Position the sensor where the process is well-mixed and operational downtime is minimal, typically at the sampling point.
5) Install the sensor near a representative process sampling point within 1.5m (5 feet). This proximity is crucial for sampling operations and calibration, ensuring accurate comparison of instrument readings with lab analysis. Improper sampling can lead to erroneous results.
2.4 Sensor installation method
Utilize a mounting bracket to immerse the sensor in channels or pipes, making it ideal for typical open channels, pipelines, and a variety of other applications.
Ensure the sensor is securely installed on the mounting bracket—never suspend the sensor in water using the cable. Immerse the sensor to a minimum depth of 30cm below the water surface, or to the typical sampling depth. Avoid exposing the sensor directly to intense light.
1) Selection of Installation Site
Opt for locations with smooth, undisturbed water flow to achieve accurate measurements.
In areas with turbulent or unsteady water flow, the velocity measurements tend to be erratic and unstable, leading to significant errors.
2) Specifications for Upstream and Downstream Channels
Ideally, select an installation site where the upstream channel has a straight length of 10 times its width, and the downstream channel has a straight length of 3 times its width.
The longer the straight upstream channel, the smoother the flow, resulting in measurements that closely match the actual flow. This section should be free of obstructions such as gates or weirs to ensure a smooth, turbulence-free flow pattern in front of the sensor.
