I. Basic Setting After the installation of the instrument is completed, you simply need to set the installation height and choose the standard weir/flume type along with its corresponding instrument for seamless operation. II. Installation Height Setting Installation height varies based on the type of water measuring weir/flume. Below are methods for confirming installation heights for standard water measuring weirs/flumes: Parshall Flume: Measure the vertical distance from the end of the ultrasonic transducer (probe) to the bottom inside the water measuring flume, in meters. Rectangular Weir: Measure the vertical distance from the end of the ultrasonic transducer (probe) to the lowest point of the water outlet of the measuring weir, in meters. Triangular Weir: Measure the vertical distance from the end of the ultrasonic transducer (probe) to the right-angle point of the water outlet of the measuring weir, in meters.
III. Flumes/Weirs Selection and Setting of Corresponding Geometric Parameters Based on the actual flume/weir type, select the appropriate standard type and configure the corresponding geometric parameters. Below are the geometric parameters required for common flumes/weirs: Parshall Flume: Select the flume type as Parshall Flume and set the standard flume number. The width of the throat section in a Parshall Flume determines the flume number. Refer to Table 1 for the measured throat width to select the standard flume number. Rectangular Weir: Choose the flume type as Rectangular Weir and set parameters including channel width, weir width, bottom height of the rectangular weir, and descriptions of the rectangular weir geometric parameters.
