1. INTRODUCTION

Our Ultrasonic Open Channel Flowmeter offers unparalleled accuracy using non-contact acoustic reflection principles to measure water levels in weirs. This state-of-the-art device, consisting of a robust ultrasonic probe and a fully sealed mainframe, transforms water level data into precise flow measurements. Ideal for both industrial and environmental applications, this flowmeter provides exceptional reliability. Installed above the weir, the ultrasonic probe emits periodic ultrasonic waves that reflect off the liquid surface. The main unit measures the propagation time \(t\) and, based on the specified weir type, accurately calculates the flow rate.

I. Basic Setting Once the installation is complete, simply set the installation height and select the corresponding standard weir/flume type for operation. II. Installation Height Setting Installation height varies with different types of water measuring weirs/flumes. Below are the methods for confirming installation height for standard types: Parshall Flume: Measure the vertical distance from the end of the ultrasonic transducer (probe) to the bottom inside the flume, in meters. Rectangular Weir: Measure the vertical distance from the end of the ultrasonic transducer (probe) to the lowest point of the water outlet, in meters. Triangular Weir: Measure the vertical distance from the end of the ultrasonic transducer (probe) to the right-angle point of the water outlet, in meters.
III. Flumes/Weirs Selection and Setting of Corresponding Geometric Parameters Select the standard flume/weir type based on the actual type in use. Then, set the corresponding geometric parameters: Parshall Flume: Choose the parshall flume type and set the standard flume number based on the throat section width, as detailed in Table 1. Rectangular Weir: Select the rectangular weir type and set parameters such as channel width, weir width, and bottom height, along with a description of rectangular weir geometric parameters.
