Installation Instructions

Harnessing the principle of the Doppler effect, this sensor correlates the frequency difference between transmission and reception with flow velocity, and the time difference between ultrasonic transmission and reception with liquid level. It also adapts to special working conditions with static pressure level monitoring, and corrects the actual speed of ultrasonic propagation through ambient temperature measurement.

2.1 Installation Instructions
To ensure the installer's safety and optimal sensor performance, please follow these installation steps meticulously:
:
1) Securely mount the meter box and sensor bracket in place.
2) Install the meter head into the meter case, ensuring it is firmly secured.
3) Proceed with the sensor installation, adhering to the guidelines.
4) Complete the electrical connections as specified.

2.2 Mainframe Installation
The mainframe can be installed in two ways: embedded or wall-mounted.
1) External dimensions of the mainframe: 176 x 150 x 86mm.

Wall mounting dimensions: 167 x 105mm.
Designed with four quick wall mounting holes, simply fix the screws as per the wall mounting points, and hang the product securely.
Note: Ensure proper probe installation during commissioning. To extend the instrument's lifespan, protect it from direct sunlight and water exposure.

2.3 Sensor Installation
Precautions:
1) Avoid shocking the sensor to prevent damage.
2) Do not unscrew the locking wire connector during installation, as it may damage the sensor.
3) Ensure the sensor is not exposed to freezing water, which could cause damage.

1) Follow these criteria when selecting a sensor mounting location to ensure optimal performance.
2) Mount the sensor in a location that ensures representative measurement results.
3) Install the sensor in an accessible location for regular cleaning.
4) Position the sensor where the process fluid is well-mixed and there is no downtime, such as at a representative sampling point.
5) The sensor should be close to a representative process sampling point, within 1.5m (5 feet), allowing operators to easily perform sampling operations. During calibration and future use, compare instrument readings with laboratory analysis results to ensure accuracy. Improper sampling is a common source of erroneous results.

2.4 Sensor Installation Method
The installation method involves immersing the sensor into the channel or pipe using a mounting bracket, making it suitable for general open channels, pipelines, and various other applications.
It is imperative to install the sensor on the mounting bracket. Never suspend the sensor in the water with the sensor cable alone. The sensor needs to be immersed to a depth of at least 30 cm below the water surface, or to the usual sampling depth, while avoiding direct exposure to intense sunlight.
1) Choice of Installation Site
Select a location where the water flow is smooth for accurate measurements.
In areas where the water flow is not smooth and often turbulent, the velocity measured under such conditions will be erratic and unstable, resulting in significant errors.
2) Requirements for Upstream and Downstream Channels
Ideally, the flowmeter installation site should have an upstream channel width of 10 times the straight channel and a downstream width of 3 times the straight channel.

The longer the length of the straight upstream channel, the better. A longer length ensures smoother flow and more accurate velocity measurements, closely reflecting actual flow. This section should be free of obstructions such as gates and weirs to ensure a smooth, turbulence-free flow pattern in front of the sensor.
