1. 1 Preface
This machine is a general-purpose industrial intelligent instrument, which can directly input the signal of ultrasonic
transducer or general industry (4-20mA, 0-20mA, 1-5V, 0-5V, etc.), and RS485 serial port input function (optional) .
This instrument adopts first tier quality multilayer PCB board, with compact hardware structure and reasonable layout.
This product uses 18-key operation menu, supports isolated 4-20mA output, supports HART communication, built-in
GPRS, GPS, 4G and other wireless data transmission, built-in 500,000 storage, supports USB storage export, and can be
added according to customer needs The module realizes other functions. The instrument has powerful functions and
integrates the function of an open channel flow totalizer, which can be used as an open channel flow meter.
1.2 Features of ultrasonic open channel flowmeter
(1) Ultrasonic non-contact liquid level measurement does not affect the flow rate at all. The accurate liquid level
measurement is an ideal liquid level meter.
(2) The probe has low power consumption, simple installation and easy positioning. It is widely used in rivers, water
supply, factories, urban sewage pipelines and other related fields.
(3) The open channel flowmeter is simple to operate and suitable for wide types of water measuring weirs, including
thin-walled right-angled triangular weirs, rectangular weirs, Parshall grooves, etc.
(4) The open channel flowmeter has a historical flowmeter recording function, which can record the flow data of the past
60 hours, 30 days, 12 months, and 10 years. The body has a built-in storage of 500,000.
(5) Comprehensive instrument control functions, four-way relay signal output, easy to connect to common actuators

The application of open channel flowmeter
The open channel flowmeter supports the flow calculation of three types of open channel water measuring weir troughs:
right-angled triangular weir, rectangular thin-walled weir and Parshall trough. The flow can be accumulated according to
the set conditions, for example, set the accumulated low water level=0.05, and the accumulated high water level=1,
which means that the flow accumulation is performed when the water level is greater than 0.5 and less than 1. When the
standard Parshall groove is selected, the effective head range of the corresponding groove type will be automatically
loaded. The flow calculation of this machine refers to the relevant standards of "JJG (Water Conservancy) 004-2015
Open Channel Weir Trough Flowmeter".
When choosing the type of weir and trough for measuring water, it is necessary to consider the size of the flow in the
channel, the flow pattern of the water in the channel, and whether it can form a free flow. When the flow is less than
40L/S, a right-angle triangular weir should generally be selected. If it is greater than 40L/S, the Parshall tank should
generally be used. If the flow is greater than 40L/S, and the water level drop in the channel is large, rectangular weirs can
be selected.
Conditions permit, it is best to choose Parshall slot. The water level-flow relationship of the Parshall trough is calibrated
by experiments, and the requirements for the upstream channel entering the trough are relatively weak. The water
level-flow relationship of the triangular weir and the rectangular weir is derived from theoretical calculations, and it is
easy to cause additional errors due to ignoring some use conditions.
The water measuring weir can be made of FRP. The mouth ofthe triangular weir and the rectangular weir is the key size,
and the processing must be accurate. The surface facing the water inlet should be smooth. The inner dimensions of the
Parshall groove should be accurate, and the inner surface should be smooth. The throat part is the critical dimension, so it
should be more accurate.
