1. INTRODUCTION

Our Ultrasonic Open Channel Flowmeter is a groundbreaking, non-contact instrument that leverages the principles of acoustic reflection to measure water levels in weirs. This advanced technology allows for precise calculation of water flow through the weir by converting detected water levels into flow rates. The device consists of a robust ultrasonic probe and a mainframe, both designed with a full plastic sealed structure to withstand industrial and environmental challenges. The probe is mounted above the weir, emitting ultrasonic waves that bounce back upon hitting the liquid surface. These reflections are captured by the probe and processed by the mainframe to determine the propagation time t. With the pre-set weir type, the mainframe accurately computes the flow rate based on liquid levels. Ideal for various industries, this flowmeter ensures precise measurement and reliable performance.

I. Basic Setting After completing the installation of the instrument, you need to set the installation height and select the corresponding standard weir/flume type for operation. II. Installation Height Setting Installation height varies based on the type of water measuring weir/flume. Below are methods for confirming the installation height for standard weirs/flumes: Parshall Flume: Measure from the ultrasonic transducer (probe) end to the bottom inside the flume, in meters. Rectangular Weir: Measure from the ultrasonic transducer (probe) end to the lowest point of the water outlet, in meters. Triangular Weir: Measure from the ultrasonic transducer (probe) end to the right-angle point of the water outlet, in meters.
III. Flumes/Weirs Selection and Setting of Corresponding Geometric Parameters Based on the actual type of flume/weir, select the standard type and set the corresponding geometric parameters. Here are the geometric parameters for common flumes/weirs: Parshall Flume: Choose the parshall flume type and set the standard flume number based on the width of the throat section, as detailed in Table 1. Rectangular Weir: Select the rectangular weir type and set parameters including channel width, weir width, and bottom height, along with other geometric descriptions.
